Solo Static Line Parachuting
|
By taking the solo static line course you will be on the way to becoming a fully fledged skydiver! You will receive around 6 hours ground training on the day in a group size of up to 12. This training is varied and will include some classroom work introducing the kit and how to control the canopy, and practical sessions including how to exit the aircraft and the landing. |
For the jump you will go up to 3,500 feet where you will exit the aircraft. As you fall away from the aircraft, the static line will automatically deploy the parachute, which you then will have complete control of. After a canopy ride of around 3 to 4 minutes you will land the parachute on the large landing site. Weather permitting in the summer you will be able to jump on the same day that you train, however it is common in the winter months, with the early evenings, that you may need to come back on the following day to do the jump. | ![]() |

Following this route, further jumps are about £42 and you can solo freefall after 5 jumps if the instructors are happy with your progress. Having done a solo parachute jump you will, quite rightly, feel a great sense of achievement - after jumping you will be able to compare notes with everyone else from your course and we find often people come back in groups to do further jumps. |
The video shows one of our first time solo static line students jumping out of the Cessna 182. This is what you will be doing if you decide to book this package!
